O projeto foi desenvolvido no sentido de assegurar um compromisso entre o princípio do respeito pelo património cultural que constitui a paisagem onde se insere, e o programa funcional estabelecido para uma habitação unifamiliar de tipologia T6. A intervenção global assume-se como uma reinterpretação da paisagem alentejana, aludindo ao povoamento disperso que, historicamente, a caracteriza. Nesse sentido, no que diz respeito à edificação proposta, recorre-se a uma proposta ‘tripartida’ (em três volumes distintos), considerando, designadamente: a intenção de refuncionalização da ruína pré-existente à cota mais alta, assumindo a construção original em taipa, quer em termos materiais, quer em termos da estruturação interior de ‘autonomia familiar’; e a intenção de construção de outros dois volumes, associados ao primeiro e entre si, em cotas mais baixas, cumprindo funções distintas mas complementares.

The project was developed in order to ensure a compromise between the principle of respect for the cultural heritage that constitutes the landscape in which it operates, and the functional program established for a single-family house of type T6. The global intervention is assumed as a reinterpretation of the Alentejo landscape, alluding to the dispersed population that, historically, characterizes it. In this sense, with regard to the proposed building, a 'tripartite' proposal (in three different volumes) is used, considering, namely: the intention to refunctionalize the pre-existing ruin at the highest level, assuming the original construction in mud, either in material terms or in terms of the internal structuring of 'family autonomy'; and the intention to build two other volumes, associated with the first and with each other, in lower shares, fulfilling distinct but complementary functions.
